In Luke chapter 14, Jesus asked a very pertinent question that speaks about resolution, planning, and commitment. You are reading this message because you went to school, studied and continue to develop yourself to grow in order to be a better person. We send our kids to excellent schools for them to be advantageous in the marketplace and often say; we do not want our kids to struggle as we did. While we continue to advance our careers through job rotation, learning new skills and investing in higher education to be more educated than our competitors. However, less time is spent on teaching and learning about humanity, respect and purposeful character that build peaceful homes. The evidence is seen in the high divorce rate and broken homes.
“28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it 29 lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, 30 saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’? 31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? 32 Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace. 33 So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.” Luke 14:28-33 NKJV
We are highly educated but not equipped to manage our homes. Neither were we trained, nor did we take the time to learn about the dynamics of two imperfect people spending their whole lives together. What exactly went wrong? I pray that the Lord God the Almighty Jehovah will give us wisdom to go back to the basics, for unless Adonai Elohim builds the house, the builders are building in vain. Psalms chapter 127.
“Walk in Wisdom
15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another in the fear of God.” Ephesians 5:15-21 NKJV
#I pray for peace and Godly homes grounded in truth!
#I want commitment, not convenience!
#“And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” Genesis 2:18 NKJV
