In Mark 14:27-31, Jesus predicted that Peter would deny Him. However, Peter spoke more vehemently that even if he had to die with Yeshua, he would NEVER deny Him! In just a few verses after this conversation in verses 66 -72, the reality takes place, and Peter denies Jesus. This made me think, as the disciples and believers of Christ, how many times we betray and deny Him throughout our deeds and behaviour? Regardless of where we have been or how much we have betrayed our heavenly Father, but His love towards us will never fail. Yet, He demonstrated “His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 NKJV.
The Lord knows our weaknesses and imperfections. Truly, our heavenly Father knows us well enough that when we mess up, we run into hiding, running away from His love. Today, I want us to take courage that no matter how much we have betrayed or doubted Him, we must never run away from Abba Father’s love, for He will NEVER give up on us nor write us off. I pray that the words of the angel encouraging Peter to come and meet Christ touch your discouraged heart to remember that it is not over until Jehovah God says it is over! Be blessed by the precept of scripture below:
“He Is Risen
1 Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him. 2 Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen. 3 And they said among themselves, “Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?” 4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away—for it was very large. 5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. 6 But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. 7 But go, tell His disciples—and Peter—that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.” 8 So they went out quickly and fled from the tomb, for they trembled and were amazed. And they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.” Mark 16:1-8 NKJV
I pray that you find it in your heart to forgive those who have betrayed you. I pray that you find the courage to come back to Jesus despite your doubts and the mess you might have caused, because He is waiting for you.
