God gave us the willpower and brain to reason and make choices. Intelligent decisions do not require emotions and often have a high return, but emotional decisions lack reasoning and are often very costly. There are things that are not worth pursuing because they have no substance or value, but there are things that are worth more than gold and are highly recommended for protection and keeping them safe. You might have your own list, but I am talking about integrity and noble character here. I thank God for His Word that directs my path, and I am grateful for my upbringing as my parents taught me to be content with what I have and if I want more, I must work for it. One of my favourite verses says, “A little that a righteous man has is better than the riches of many wicked.” Psalms 37:16 NKJV.

Therefore, be thirsty but don’t just drink from any cup presented to you and respect yourself enough to demand respect from those who undervalue you for your value is not defined by your possessions! Luke 12:15 says,
“Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.” NKJV
“Be careful to guard against all forms of greed, because even if someone is rich, his life does not consist in what he owns.” CJB
“Take care! Protect yourself against the least bit of greed. Life is not defined by what you have, even when you have a lot.” MSG
