There is a season for everything under the sun and I regret to tell you that no one can escape each season God has predestined for them. For example, some of us like summer while others prefer winter and those who do not like summer cannot fast-track this season to end so are the seasons of life. The only thing you need is to pray for wisdom and strength to endure and act in a Godly way in whatever season you find yourself in.
There are three accounts that I would like us to examine and be encouraged as they can be relevant to us during the season of drought and desperation. Today we are going to consider the account of the widow in 1 Kings chapter 17 and God willing next week will go through the case of the criminal in Luke chapter 23 and Hanna in 1 Samuel chapter 1. I pray that these scriptures will be an encouragement to those who are in their lowest moment and feel that the winter is not coming to an end in their lives.
“Elijah and the Widow
8 Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, 9 “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.” 10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, indeed a widow was there gathering sticks. And he called to her and said, “Please bring me a little water in a cup, that I may drink.” 11 And as she was going to get it, he called to her and said, “Please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.” 12 So she said, “As the Lord your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die.” 13 And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said, but make me a small cake from it first, and bring it to me; and afterward make some for yourself and your son. 14 For thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth.’ ” 15 So she went away and did according to the word of Elijah; and she and he and her household ate for many days. 16 The bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry, according to the word of the Lord which He spoke by Elijah.” 1 Kings 17:8-16 NKJV
I pray that Abba Father gives you strength to stand firm in His promises no matter how hard the situation might seem but may compromising God’s holiness not be an option as your way out for Jehovah Jare is your provider. 1 Kings 17:14-16 Amen! I pray that Adonai Elohim gives you wisdom as you transition from one season to the next and may His name be glorified in and through you. James 1:5. I pray all this in the name of Jesus our Lord who is able to keep us from stumbling and present us blameless before the throne of grace, may all honour and glory be unto Him. Amen!

#”The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way. Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the Lord upholds him with His hand.” Psalms 37:23-24 NKJV
