In the context of Matthew 5:13-16, Jesus challenges us to be people of impact and contribute to our society. The challenge we are facing today is that everyone wants to gratify themselves rather than serve others. Sometimes this is due to bad experiences we encounter on life’s road, and sometimes it is due to selfishness. Whatever your reasons might be to do what you do, I want to challenge you today to please examine yourself and ask simple but deep questions, namely: 1) Is your light shining? 2) Are you a person of great value? “…you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”’ John 8:32 NKJV
“Believers Are Salt and Light
13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavour, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:13-16 NKJV
May the Lord Jesus help us to be true and authentic in our dealings. If you treat people unfairly, thinking that no one is watching and the people you are abusing might not know your full plan, but I want to remind you that there is God in heaven, and He executes justice and righteousness. Psalms 103:6. Therefore, the day of vengeance will come! Deuteronomy 32:35 and Romans 12:19.
#I will not be silent and by the grace of God, my light will shine!
#“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.” Matthew 11:12 NKJV
#“The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.” Psalms 46:11 NKJV
