Sometimes, we fail to grasp the full significance of the Word of God and attempt to modify its teachings to suit our own ideas or reinterpret its meaning to justify our lifestyle. While the meaning and the interpretation of the Word is the scripture itself. In Hebrews chapter 13, the Bible tells us that marriage is honourable among all, meaning that even in your tradition and customs, the marriage bed MUST be undefiled. I have lived long enough to attest that where a marriage bed has been defiled, peace is destroyed at home, and the family will never be the same. I have witnessed this tragedy rooted in selfishness and lust. However, the saddest thing about this mess for me is to witness kids being victims of their parents’ disobedience. Therefore, no matter how hard it is to fight temptations, please keep it clean and keep it pure because the consequences of not fearing God are a great destruction for your life and your generations to come for Adonai Elohim will judge fornicators and adulterers. Hebrews 13:4.
Here is the perfect example of the great destruction after defiling the marriage bed. I pray that you value your marriage after reading this message and respect the institution of marriage to live a life that fears God, to allow Him to fix your problems in marriage instead of relying on circular solutions and or your own creativity that is contrary to the Word of God, like Sarai did in the passage below:
“1Now Sarai Avram’s wife had not borne him a child. But she had an Egyptian slave-girl named Hagar; 2 so Sarai said to Avram, “Here now, Adonai has kept me from having children; so go in and sleep with my slave-girl. Maybe I’ll be able to have children through her.” Avram listened to what Sarai said. 3 It was after Avram had lived ten years in the land of Kena‘an that Sarai Avram’s wife took Hagar the Egyptian, her slave-girl, and gave her to Avram her husband to be his wife. 4 Avram had sexual relations with Hagar, and she conceived. But when she became aware that she was pregnant, she looked on her mistress with contempt. 5 Sarai said to Avram, “This outrage being done to me is your fault! True, I gave my slave-girl to you to sleep with; but when she saw that she was pregnant, she began holding me in contempt. May Adonai decide who is right — I or you!” 6 However, Avram answered Sarai, “Look, she’s your slave-girl. Deal with her as you think fit.” Then Sarai treated her so harshly that she ran away from her.” Genesis 16:1-6 CJB
I pray for strength and grace for you to escape the tragedy of Genesis chapter 16. I pray for the restoration and forgiveness where the marriage has been defiled. I pray for reconciliation where families have been scattered because of unfaithfulness and wrong decisions previously made for not every problem can be fixed by our solution. Lastly, I pray that in everything we ask Jehovah God to guide us before we act and or seal any deal to ensure that we DO NOT mess up! 😊
