Many want to be recognised as priests but lack character and operate in the flesh. Priesthood comes with responsibility and upholding such responsibilities requires a Godly character. Imagine a world where one cannot even manage their own life, schedule, and discipline, but proclaim to be ready to lead someone else. The ones who are called and predestined to the priesthood know their calling as early as their conversion and walk with integrity for this scripture makes sense to them. “6 They shall be holy to their God and not profane the name of their God, for they offer the offerings of the Lord made by fire, and the bread of their God; therefore they shall be holy. 7 They shall not take a wife who is a harlot or a defiled woman, nor shall they take a woman divorced from her husband; for the priest is holy to his God.” Leviticus 21:6-7 NKJV.
One may argue that not everyone got saved as a child, does that mean the one who did not adhere to this scripture to get the revelation of the priesthood is disqualified to lead, or what about Hosea? My response to this question is, we serve a God of mercy, and 1 John 1:9 tells us that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:17-19 NKJV
This message is not meant to condemn anyone but rather challenges everyone who is called by the name of YHW to uphold the standard, value, and Godly character for our God is Holy and He wants us to be Holy as He is. You cannot call yourself a priest or an ambassador of Christ and yet continue to live in sin for we are all on the battlefield fighting for righteousness, and our High Priest Yeshua Hamashiach sympathizes with our weaknesses. Therefore, let us pursue holiness for without it, no one will see God!
“Our Compassionate High Priest
14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:14-16 NKJV
#be accountable and responsible!
#it’s not about the office, but responsibility, character, holiness, discipline and integrity!
#“Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:” Hebrews 12:14 NKJV
