Can you imagine the struggle of 2 widows (Naomi and Ruth) staying together with no one supporting them! Ruth as the youngest window in a foreign land didn’t sit and wait for manna to come from heaven, but in Ruth 2:2 she resolved to go out to the field and glean. Therefore, I conclude, that Ruth was an intelligent hard-working woman who understood her abilities and chose her strength over pity and depression.
