Today’s passage reminded me of the conversation I had with one of the sisters in Christ about a week ago where we were discussing that unmarried Christians do not practice protected sex but rather abstain from sex period for sex before and outside marriage is a sin. Our standard of living is not defined by the world, but as Christians, our standard of living and morals are defined by the Bible. Galatians 5:22-25 speaks about the fruits of the Spirit and is very clear that those who are in Christ should crucify their flesh! The reality is no one can do this but only the work of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, submit yourself to God and fully surrender to the Lordship of Jesus for the Holy Spirit to give you victory over sin and walk victoriously as you serve His majesty. Lastly, Jesus said in Matthew 7:15-20, we will know His true disciples by their own fruits not by their charismatic gifts!
