It is amazing how we faithfully trust God for His will to be done in our lives, earnestly pray for the new season and undoubtedly believe in His promises but yet still hold on to our past. I will not ask you why we do this but instead, I am here to tell you today to drop it off. Drop off your past bitterness and resentments that are causing you to doubt Abba Father’s providence. Drop off your past scars caused by betrayal as they are blinding you from seeing the answer to your prayers for Jehovah God has already answered you but because you are holding onto the past you keep on thinking that your blessing is a myth!
Hhe! Buddy, drop it off and move on! Please close that door of the past for it will not be part of your future. My dear friend, you cannot embrace and celebrate your past curses and current blessings at the same time. Darkness and light do not reside in the same spot, so blessings and curses cannot be your portion. Therefore, wake up and smell the coffee before it is too late. Surely, you do not want to wake up and regret your foolishness after realizing that you have wasted time collecting stones while Adonai Elohim has presented the diamond in front of you, but your insecurities are holding you back from taking and walking in your divine blessing. The reality is, that you are not the only one who sees the value of that diamond and the courageous bidder is going to seal the deal in front of you while you are messing around because you do not understand the value of time and precious commodities!
As for me, I am not the dog that returns to its vomit – that I will go back to the things that did not add value to me or welcome back the people who hurt me to my secret space and visit the places that hold bad memories. NEVER! The moment I close that door of the past, quietly I move forward forgetting the past and its memories understanding that I cannot change the past but rather use it to influence my future. Below is the scripture that has been the anchor of this philosophy in my life. Yet, I have no regrets about the decisions that I have made and have no sit of the past in my current and future table! 😊😊😊
“7 But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. 8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. 12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:7-14 NKJV
Once again, I say please drop off anything that is not adding value to your life or edifying your faith. Drop off anything that is holding you behind and delaying you from walking into your destiny for the steps of the righteous person are ordered by the Lord. Psalms 37:23-24.
