We are all surrounded by noise and a multitude of distractions. However, it is our choice whether we want to be successful or remain mediocre, for growth comes with discomfort. I have never seen any man or woman who has achieved greatness without any sacrifice, discipline, and determination. Therefore, it is time to assess your surroundings and sift out what is not adding value to your life, whether it be private, academically, business or ministry. “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? 37 Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” Mark 8:36-37 NKJV
As we conclude the study of Mark chapter 5, I want us to consider the principle of sifting out the crowd and ask the Holy Spirit to equip us with discernment and sensitivity to the things that matter the most. In Mark 5:21– 24; we learn that after Jairus humbled himself and pleaded to Jesus to help him because his young girl was sick and about to die. The Bible tells us that Jesus went with Jairus; however, “a great multitude followed Him and thronged Him.” In verse 37, the Bible tells us that Jesus “permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.” Subsequently, when He arrived at Jairus’s home, He kicked everyone out and only allowed Jairus and his wife, along with His three disciples who were with Him.
“38 Then He came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and saw a tumult and those who wept and wailed loudly. 39 When He came in, He said to them, “Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping.” 40 And they ridiculed Him. But when He had put them all outside, He took the father and the mother of the child, and those who were with Him, and entered where the child was lying. 41 Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, “Talitha, cumi,” which is translated, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.” 42 Immediately, the girl arose and walked, for she was twelve years of age. And they were overcome with great amazement. 43 But He commanded them strictly that no one should know it, and said that something should be given her to eat.” Mark 5:38-43 NKJV
So, can your delay be the cause of the wrong crowd that is surrounding you, busy ridiculing your vision and mission? When I am seeking clarity, I lock myself and permit no one into my space. In silent Adonai Elohim speaks with clarity and shows me the direction I need to pursue. Therefore, if you are afraid of being alone, then expect no great miracles to take into your life. Remember, lions are loners, but their presence is felt in the jungle! 😊meaning that if you want to be a mighty man or woman of valour and be used by God, then be prepared to be a loner! As for me, my mission is clear and I will not welcome any confusion in my camp for I am not a confused woman, and I have never been confused about who I am or will ever be confused about my assignment.
